FTP mode for uploading files

"What mode do I use for uploading my files to my Virtual Server via FTP?"

Text files such as html files need to be uploaded in ASCII format and not binary. Perl scripts also fall into this catagory.

Image files such as .gif and .jpg or .jpeg and executable files such as .exe need to be uploaded in binary format.
