Copying, Moving, Deleting Directories

"How can I copy, move, and delete a directory with all its subdirectories and archives to another path?"

You can login via FTP to copy, move, and delete files easily.  Deleting a directory is not easy using an FTP client.   To delete a directory you would have to first delete all the files in the directory and then remove the directory.

An easier way to accomplish all of the above is to connect to your virtual server using Windows 95/NT File Sharing.  This method allows you to map your server to one of your home drives so you can copy, move, and delete files and directories with simple point and click using Windows Explorer.

When using FTP and/or File Sharing you need to be careful not to erase any of the directories that came with your server because this would make your virtual server unusable.  You should only delete or create files and directories in the htdocs, odbc, or cgi-src directories.  If you accidentally erase any of your virtual server directories let us know immediately so we can restore them.
